I only ever do 1 coat and it always comes out great. I just hang them on the bottom of the oven rack (I'm using an old food oven that's probably as old as me, lol). Hook marks are a fact of life when it comes to powder coating. I will say though that I'm usually able to get enough powder around the hooks so that you can't really tell where they were. I hooked through the holes left around the welds from the bushing eye part whenever possible otherwise I just hooked right through the bushing eye itself or the bolt holes. The hooks that came with my kit aren't big enough for some of the stuff.. when I rebuilt my brake calipers last year and upgraded to 2G rears I kept the old metal cir-clips for the dust boots, they work great.

I know it sucks doing all the steps and that it takes a really long time but it's so worth it. Last year when I did my brakes I also did the AWS delete and just cleaned up and painted everything.. Here is how it looked when I dropped it this time.. can hardly tell I painted anything.

Well that's good to hear. Definitely makes me want to coat everything. My calipers have always looked great even without washing (knock on wood!) Maybe ill just paint where there are bare spots..

they should continue to look great powder coat is a very tough coating.. somehow something got flung up and hit my brake caliper and took a chunk off the caliper.. I tried to flake more off around the damaged area and couldn't. I'm just gonna use engine enamel to cover it up. When I did mine I painted the letters white with the duplicolor engine enamel and they still look great.

Alright, lets get this thread back on track
I got my trailing arms finished up today.

The other one is still in the oven cooling

Also powdercoated these.. they don't look nice and smooth because there was so much rust on them but I just couldn't put rusty parts on my nice "new" trailing arms.

Hey bro, do me a favor and weigh that for me would you? Someone said that weighed 250lbs and I need to see how far off my scale is haha... In all seriousness though can you weigh the rear subframe, and the end links aswell?

61lbs for the subframe with mounts, trailing arms weigh 47lbs with lower arm, maximal upper, e-brake cable and abs wiring. Basically everything but the pads, rotor, and strut. Rakuny's parts are not at his house so I figured this would be faster since I'm doing almost the same thing as him.

I know, I'm waiting on parts though, and I did more stuff
I'm getting my new trailing arm tomorrow and I should get my trailing arm bushings by the end of the week.
been working on other small projects in the meantime.. something I did today.
