    My car has an alarm!?!?!

So I bought my 92 Stealth TT almost 7 years ago. It was completely stock when I got it, but it always had some electrical issues that bugged me. The stereo never had memory, and the climate control always reset, and the stupid dome light didn't work. I tried to figure it out back then, but I just got used to these issues and went on with my life.

So in June I broke my leg, and was immobile for about 10 weeks. I was bored so I decided to finally track down the cause of the problems. I saw a thread on someone finding a fuse that was blown but looked fine, so I went back through all my fuses and BINGO! That was my problem. Replaced one stupid fuse and now my car has all these cool features: door lights, dome lights, hatch lights, stereo and climate control memory, etc. that I never knew it had!

Today I was coming out of the store and my popups were up and my "alarm" was going crazy! I just stuck my key in the driver door and it turned off. A couple hours later I went to open the hatch with the key, and the alarm went off again. What the heck? Only thing I can think of is that I left the lights on so I jumped it this morning (snake eyes used to go off by themselves, but now they stay on when the key is out....).

My car never came with an alarm clicker thing. So I guess I have an alarm? Can I get a clicker? I want keyless entry!!

    Ben

All years had an alarm and I think some late 92's (or was it 93) had a remote fob but you can call the dealer and give them the vin to see if you can buy a remote and they will help you. The only other way to tell that I know of was to take off the rear seat and panel to see if the controller exists. http://www.team3s.com/FAQkeyless.htm

Clicker wont help. Its just a passive alarm. Putting the keys in the drivers door and unlocking is how you turn it off.

The clicker was ONLY for keyless. It wont shut the alarm off.

hahahaha, yes, your car has a alarm. Like Brutten said, you need to go at some dealer and ask for a remote control. Well, you can see your "stock" alarm running when you lock the driver door using the main key. This will light on a "green light" SECURITY above the tour/sport light.

As said the remote wont shut the alarm off, its only for keyless. And a lot of 92's didn't even have keyless. It was a mid year option.

Curious, should my 91 VR4 have a alarm? Its never worked if it does, would the box be under the rear seat ?

Its not a typical alarm. Its only passive. It sets when you lock the doors. There is a light that will come up on your dash that says SECURITY. It will only go off if you open the door from the inside without unlocking it when its set. Same thing with opening the hood or hatch.
