    conversion harness for flashable ECU

This cable will allow you to utilize a 98 or 99 flashable ECU on your 91-93 Stealth/3000GT/GTO. This conversion harness is built from 100% new parts. It includes everything you see in the picture minus the usb cable and tactrix device. ECU connector parts are getting very scarce to build any more in the future, so don't delay. The advantages of a flashable ECU are as follows:
    - proper injector scale for your larger injectors, no more timing induced problems or running excessively rich during winter warmups or running rich at idle due to too much airflow correction.
    - proper injector lag for good idle
    - datalogging samples are twice the speed of 91-95 ECUs (when using MUT communication mode). OBD2 datalogging is also optional but not recommended cuz its slow.
    - my 15G turbo's spool up a little quicker now that the ECU can employ spoolup tricks with lean spool (fuel/timing)
    - increase/decrease rev limit
    - increase/decrease target idle rpm
    - disable EGR test, EVAP test, etc. (to avoid CEL.)
    - possible to disable O2 feedback locking fuel trims permanently to 100%
    - allows you to replace your factory MAF with an EVO MAF that is known to support 650+ wheel HP.
    - allows you to modify fuel and timing maps
    - fuel cut can be modified higher
    - there are many other little parameters you can modify, but I'm not going to list them all.

The ideal ECUs are 3000GTs ECU as they can be plugged right in without any hardware modifications. Those part numbers are MD360163, MD347250, MD360162, MD347251. The first two numbers are for twin turbo ECUs, they are extremely rare, and will usually cost around $500-$750. The last two numbers are for the more common DOHC SL ECU which go for around $200 on ebay. With the DOHC SL ECU you give up:
    - low/high voltage fuel pump relay control (most people hotwire anyways)
    - fuel pressure solenoid control (this can be safely disconnected, it's only used on hot summer days when the engine is hot started to raise the fuel pressure temporarily).
    - stock boost control and boost gauge.
You can also use 98/99 Montero and Diamante ECUs but they require some hardware modifications.

$200 shipping included with tracking number.

Do you have to do anything with the radiator fan relays?

1st generation ECU do not control the radiator fan relays, so nothing special has to be done for them as they work independently.
For 2nd generation ECU, I do hook up the radiator fan relays.

Lots of demand, so I'm building more.

You're looking at $260.93 worth of gold ECU pins purchased in bulk. If I purchased these in small quantities at a time, it would have cost $521.22. Crazy. I think I should count them to make sure I didn't get short changed.

Don't mean to hijack your thread, but do have a question. I am currently running the eManage Ultimate. So do you think this is a better solution than a piggy back? I am very interested in buying this and going this route, but want to make sure before I pull the trigger. I also know that you had the eManage for a while so you would be a good person to ask.

I had several hundreds of extra dollars in my pocket after doing the conversion. Sold ECU for $450, sold emanage ultimate setup for $700. The cost of doing this conversion was much less.

I'm very pleased going with a flashable ECU over the piggyback route. Properly tuning stage 3 wiring on ultimate is complicated to make it work, and it sometimes had a small fuel glitch that annoyed me. I spent many hours trying to solve that emanage glitch by purchasing a new alternator, new ground cables, temporarily hot-wiring the fuel low/high fuel relay, and even purchased a new emanage ultimate to get rid of that glitch but to no avail. The only way to get rid of the glitch was to go back to stage 2.5. Unfortunately at this stage it exhibits the same piggyback headaches like all other piggybacks, timing induced problems which you must subtract timing. Seasonal changes made an impact on wideband AFR, so during the winter it would run way too rich during warmup. After switching to a flashable ECU, the seasonal changes are no longer a problem.

Another thought came to mind, when cranking the engine, the ECU does not measure the airflow until 2 seconds after the engine has started. This means anyone with large injectors & piggyback that modifies airflow are squirting too much fuel temporarily. It is possible with excessive fuel during crank will result in a no start. The more larger the injectors, the more likely this condition could occur.

Anyone who is still using the stock low/high fuel relay will be happy. With the flashable ECU, it operates as it should at the correct time because it is dependent on airflow signal. Piggybacks that modify the airflow signal will delay this operation and in turn creating a lean spike.

With the emanage, when I was running speed density at stage 3 it worked great, other than the occasional glitch I had as mentioned earlier. However getting speed density to work at stage 2.5 was more difficult at idle, a small change in Hz was a big change in fuel delivery. So if you wanted to, you could use the flashable ECU for injector sizing, and piggyback for speed density that would be easier to setup because a small change in HZ would not result in a big change in fuel delivery.

Just got my harness today. It is very well made, and looks even better than some boomslang harnesses I have seen. Thanks for a great product, it is money well spent. Also, I can't thank you enough for helping me with all of my extra questions regarding the swap. I can't wait to get this setup going, I'm just waiting on my new ecu, cable, and evo maf...

    Thanks for the comments 75blackray.

Yesterday I receive shipment of ECU connectors (1st gen and 2nd gen). Now I have parts to build more.
