What are people doing for alternators these days?

Uh oh... battery light started flickering on dash, and my voltage is low. What's the best deal? Rebuilds? New? Is there a higher performance one I should consider?

Best thing I found is dropping old one off at a good old fashioned electrical shop.

I tried the eBay alternator (eagle auto) only to have it fail within weeks, but if I can find the pics it's pretty obvious why

...80 bucks in parts and 60 dollars in labor later, I have had zero issues for about 20 thousand miles now

Well I like to try new things so I bought a brand new alternator off of California_alternator_starter on eBay. He had over 5000 sales and 100% feedback. Happy to report that it works great. Hopefully it will hold up, and they also have a one-year warranty. Not bad!

I think my dying alt explains why I was having some fueling issues around 600whp.
