Wussy! Why would they sell cars in cold climates then, so they cannot be driven?

this is a silly question. the block heater suggestion is the only thing i would ever consider, and i am talking about 0*F. drive your car and quit worrying so much. be aware of the lack of traction

There's a reason why my car (built in 1990) still has a far better paint job than most cars on this forum. (And no, I've never had it repainted.) Of course you can drive cars in cold and freezing conditions... but it sure as hell isn't ideal for the car. If you want to keep a car pristine, you don't drive it in bad weather, plain and simple.

EDIT: And only one small spot of rust on the frame ever (fixed), as its very rarely driven in the wet.

Depends how much the car is taken care of. If it isnt washed from September until May every year, yes, it wont look the same as a car that is washed every 2 weeks over the same time period.

My VR-4 was driven in every kind of weather condition and it lived half it's life in Colorado... Some surface rust on the rails, and the exhaust was trash, but otherwise nearly perfect original paint. Cold weather alone isn't going to damage a car unless it gets cold enough to freeze the coolant.

he did not make this thread because he was concerned for his paint. its common sense that to keep the car in good condition, you dont drive it when the weather is bad. he made this because he thinks that because he has 19t's and lots of supporting mods, that he could damage the car (mechanically) when beating it around in cold weather.

sin - watch the boost level... cold air = more dense air = more air in a smaller space = higher than normal boost spikes. otherwise, enjoy the car and quit being so worried about it you panzy

I drive my car at most any temperature, though it usually doesn't get below 10F here in Arkansas. Just make sure you give it extra time to warm up and get the oil warm. It takes about 50% longer for my oil to get up to operating temp in the cold (Setrab cooler).

car feels much different when outside temps are above 40F. I don't like driving vr4 with below freezing temps.
