Yeah, lots of damage that's for sure. I've very thankful my cousin is helping me tear this down.

GPZ had a oem input shaft bearing in stock and shipped to me for $100 bill. I am really happy about saving money over 3SX and they are in the same state as me so shipping should be fast.

    Clutch kit-$200
    O.S.-$50
    Bearing-$100
    Rear main seal-$25
    Misc-fluids/gaskets-$50

    Total=$425
    Shop cost saved-$2k
Satisfaction of doing and finishing it ourselves - Unknown

Really hoping to get it back together this weekend.

So here is what I've been looking at for the last 2 weeks. This is my front porch.

First thing we replaced was the rear main seal, here is the old one. Prob was fine but it was a 5 min job while the tranny was out.

Next we cleaned everything real good and mounted the clutch. We weren't sure of the torque specs..and guessed 30 lbs...we twisted the head of one of the clutch bolts right off. It could have been too much but I think the bolt was junk. It took a 5/16 drill bit and 3/8 tap to repair it and replace the bolt with a grade 8.

Next was the input shaft bearing. We had checked about the preload but the specs in the manual called for shaft play something or other...I wung it...

New bearing installed thanks to GPZ.

After that we replaced the output shaft with a used one from TurboSinceBirth. Here is a shot of the one we took out.

    Ready to lift in!

No more pictures after this point. After about a 1/2 hour of fist fighting with Satan, the tranny was in. Didn't take much after that. We ran out of daylight but managed to get everything put back together so MC#4 could make his 9:30 bedtime.

    Thank you again Mr. #4

You need to be careful about your ghetto mechanic mindset lol

I'm not a mechanic nor have I claimed to be. I'm proud of what I have accomplished.

No offense, just a warning. A lot easier to find torque specs for bolts than to just wing it and end up having to go back.
