I didn't really like what I saw in the videos, but when I played it, it was great.

Yeah I was the same way. I had a lot of doubts when I read the reviews and watched the videos and then once I started playing they all melted away pretty quickly.

I got it for xmas from my girl friend. I've been around mmos since the beginning of eq1. Calling this game a watered down wow is like calling wow a watered down eq. Just because wow came before swtor doesn't mean that it set the ground work for everything that follows. I played wow for years and raided and such for years. While game play is similar to wow. It is different. The game is more story based and plays a lot like the old star wars knights of the old republic games with mmo framework. Wow just made mmos mainstream, there are not many that can't admit to have tried playing it. So there is nothing wrong with mmos using similar concepts and controls after seeing what made previous games successful and what made others fail.
I do like swtor so far. it is a refreshing change. Regardless of its long term success, I will get my money's worth out of it.

The games not bad - got a level 28 trooper vanguard and 19 jedi guardian. I have all other republic classes already setup on all my slots on The Fatman. The guild I joined is Fight and we're PVP but I'm just focusing on leveling atm.

I haven't played any other MMO besides SWG - combat and mobility is much different and does take some time getting use too. There are some bugs, but that's to be expected.

All it all it's not a bad game. I do find myself getting alittle addicted to it, which takes time away from modding, so I do need to be careful.

Give me a shout if anyone is interested in buddying up in game. I'm always up to helping out or rolling a new toon and leveling up in a group.
