to reduce weight on front you can do RX7 style tower. look at this one. in front of strut tower there is nothing there. jut a plastick to keep the water away from engine bay. all FD RX7s are like that.

2000 I don't see it happening, 2500, still a stretch but possible. I gutted T4 to hell and back including plexi windows etc, nothing but outside skins on doors etc. Still was over 3000 pounds. Good Luck!

why T4 was so heavy? STM stealth was 2700lbs and i think it'll get ever lighter. Nelson's car is about the same with interior.

    What an insulting/ignorant post.

What Austin @ STM did was effing amazing; far from the norm. The only comparable cars are DR's (which was 2900 lbs IIRC) and MAYBE Nelson's (tubular subframe and 100,000 times the budget, so who cares).

How STM's car became the 'expected' is beyond me. I honestly have no idea how he got to 2700 lbs.

Nelson's car probably was not a good compression, but it's obvious there were more stuff to gut that we all have missed. 2700lbs and still having glasses all around but hatch should tell us something.

Theres alot u can cut out of the frame, alot of electrical work race cars dont need that 3/s has. Getting all carbon fiber and fiber glass panels. Replacing heavy factory frame parts with chromoly. This is already been covered between the two threads I believe. I see no reason why 2500 lbs isnt achiveable.
