Isn't that the truth! So many little issues have been found by just takin' 5, sitting back and "thinking" about it. (thinking, drinking, same thing )

“The danger to America is not Barack Obama but a citizenry capable of entrusting a man like him with the presidency. It will be easier to limit and undo the follies of an Obama presidency than to restore the necessary common sense and good judgment to a depraved electorate willing to have such a man for their president. The problem is much deeper and far more serious than Mr. Obama, who is a mere symptom of what ails us. Blaming the prince of the fools should not blind anyone to the vast confederacy of fools that made him their prince. The republic can survive a Barack Obama, who is, after all, merely a fool. It is less likely to survive a multitude of fools such as those who made him their president.” -- Author Unknown

    Congrats... your new child.
If it wasn't before it sure the heck is now!

Yesterday, I finished stripping down. There's nothing left on on the chassi except 4 bolts... no fuel lines, brake lines, gas tank, I mean nothing. Sometime around 8am I started wiping down the entire chassi to remove anything that might contaminate any prep work, grinds, and welds. When I finished up I sat in the engine bay for about an hour just looking at how the front end was constructed and how it tied to the cab.

I was literally minutes from cutting into the front end to modify chassi and my phone rang. At Noon yesterday I took Alli to the ER. At 8:58PM MST Landon arrived. It was a long night and so I'm going to catchup on some rest.

I snapped a pic before I left the garage. You can see that pile of panels and shit I don't need is getting pretty big

Look at all that crap still left in the front... that pile's going to get a lot bigger :lol5:

    They'll be more later...

We follow the earth. The earth follows the stars. The stars know their way and though the body dies. The stars will remain, like the waves of the sea and restless slate.

Before seam welding, go over all the seams with a torch to heat them up and sqeeze out more sealer to clean out. It'll help from contaminating the welds as bad. Have a firebottle, hose, can of tundra handy, the car will catch fire, a lot, lol. It STINKS, also, so have ventilation.

Notes about this cage design. It was designed for an E36, so the extra bars going to certain suspension points like the subframe and rear trailing arm mounts may not apply to the 3S. Solid blue dots are subframe, blue circles are coilover/strut tops. This was a quick drawing based on memory of our old BMW Motorsport chassis, so not to scale and locations may be.....different. If doing protruding FIA bars, remember to use uncut bars and gusset it heavily. Another option is doing "scott/IZZY" bars, I have a pic of Pete's cage around here somewhere. Not shown in drawing is the chassis gussets where the cage is welded to the A and B pillars. For the E46 BMW-M added a dual A pillar design to the cage, but I don't think it was any stronger than the IMSA/FIA A pillar support, which is that sorta vertical bar from top of A pillar to the front chassis mount. There's like 4 different thicknesses of tubing in that cage, also.

[edit]: Sill bar and jack bar missing...now added
