What rule book are you reading that says... A) You can get away with not having a 360 degree weld, and B) if so, you have to use gussets. That's the most crazy thing I've ever heard and I've been a road racing instructor and scrutineer for over 10 years. I'd flat out tell a racer to put it back on the trailer if I saw an incomplete weld, period. They don't even allow that in the Chumpcar series, and it's a $500 car series. I didn't mean to bash on you and it was more harsh than it should have been and I appologize, (me without my coffee in the AM) but wasted side bars too? The only spec that has one side bar is NHRA. In fact, the majority of wheel to wheel series require at minimum 2 bars, (rally adds a sil bar) and the heavier classes require 3 side bars, with an 8 inch center to center span minimum for cockpit breach while not impeding egress. This covers NASA, SCCA, PPIHC, CHCA, Lemons, Chumpcar, the list just goes on and on for that one. I think even Nascar is up to something like 4 bars with a 3 inch gap or something, but that's speculation, I'm in no way a Nascar guy.

I think he was doubting you guys did the 360 welds not saying you could get away without it.

    Oh!
Well in that case, it makes a whole lot more sense. They are 100% 360 around each tube. They also require the gussets as well.

Thanks for the clarification Green, sorry for the mix up if that's the case.

It's perfectly legal for all the TTU levels in the SCCA. That's the class I'll be running in. Same with Nascar and the others. You're thinking about club level street class stuff. Stock like cars in stock classes. Not me. Maybe a BMW, Mercedes, Miata, Porche club etc.. LOL, you know of any 3/S club races going on?

Regardless, you're absolutely right I modified the stock impact zones. I want a rigid car, which equates to a predicatable car! Not one that's going to twist, bend, and flex.

I disagree with you saying my car is unsafe, you're wrong. That's what tech inspections are for right?

Please elaborate on what rule books you're getting your info from. Site your source and provide reference info if your going to make blanket statements about what's allowed and what's not.

You're spreading bad info in saying I can only drift or rally this car... watch me do otherwise.

It may not be your first rodeo but your spreading bad information. Here's the FULL 300+ page NHRA rulebook... http://www.bremertonraceway.com/2011...20Rulebook.pdf

I just finished reading it for the 5th time . Like I said, your seam weld statement was incorrect, as was your crumple zones. You need only some form of crash bar attched to the front and rear of the frame unless you're running super or pro classes or you want to run stock. LOL, does this car look stock?

Additionally, the reference table that directs back to SFI regarding welds scrutiny so states "SFI Chassi Inspections when Trap speed exceeds 180MPH". At that point they're still okay if they are flux tested and they pass. I'm an excellent welder and they will pass. EDIT: LOL, No I do not intend to break 180mph so I guess I'm good!

So were clear for NHRA, and SCCA, and CHCA, and PPIHC, do I need to post the other rule books?
