Hey James, did you use the windows installer for the openport 2.0 cable? That's the issue I was having.
Hey James, did you use the windows installer for the openport 2.0 cable? That's the issue I was having.
FYI, there are two different device drivers for the Tactrix 2.0 device. I'm pretty sure if you use the latest beta ECUFlash it will install the newer version that will cause problems for Evoscan.
Nomie, yes I used the windows installer of ECUFlash.
Antero, thanks for that, I'll check and see what version of ECUFlash I'm on. I don't think it was a beta. If I can, I'll back-rev to something earlier and see if that helps.
Found I was on ECUFlash v 1.43.3252
Went to their website and seems the latest version on there now is 1.42.2595 (not sure why as I'm pretty sure the 1.43 version I got was from their website as well)
Downloaded 1.42, uninstalled ECUFlash and EvoScan, removed the openport driver via device manager (right click device / driver tab / uninstall).
Installed ECUFlash 1.42.2595 then reinstlaled EvoScan 2.6
Same error message from EvoScan.
What version of ECUFlash are people using successfully here?
Thanks,
James
I am running 1.42.2595. Is evoscan installed to the root of the drive?
9B+93-13.2@108
16G+E85...?
the cake is a lie
I'm using 1.42.2595. I recall reading on a ECUflash forum a complicated procedure for downgrading or uninstalling. You might want to research that.
MonsterStealth, I have both programs installed to C:\ECUPrograms (subfolders \ECUFlash and \EvoScan within there). Heard there were lots of issues with EvoScan when in the default Program Files location...
Antero, thanks, I'll do some digging and see if I can find back-rev info for ECUFlash. Something tells me it's still on the newer version of the openport driver despite my attempt to remove via device mgr.
ACK! There are separate uninstalls for the Openport drivers. I'll try another reinstall this evening after removing *all* of these items from add/remove programs.
Hopefully that will get it talking.![]()
Try replacing the op20pt32.dll in the EVOScan directory with the one from the ECUFlash directory.
I'm getting a P0500 speed sensor CEL which wouldn't be applicable to my '96 normally. Anybody know if turning off bit 08 in periphery2 would take care of this? Is this a real concern that needs to be addressed?
