Thread: So who wants their ECU's "Chromed"?

  1. #21
Just got the tactix cable in and moving into using chromed 1.0. Might switch to 1.0.1 for the MASS calcs but wont be moving into the 1.1 or 1.2, as I will not be installing a MAP sensor or anything beyond what I now have. (yea, right I wont. But not for now lol)

Full race car I would guess that the aem would be better. The AEM can control almost anything. I want the car to feel 100% stock behind the wheel. Mitsubishi puts hours into research on there drivability. Can you make an AEM feel mostly stock? yes, but there is always something small to adjust. For example, the iac can be controlled by the aem but it dosent know how it far open or closed it is. It adjust the iac blindly. So I'd like the simplicity of a 98/99 ecu. Just preference, I'm picky.

    Cheaper.
    Easier to tune...

Lots of advantages. Soon I'll figure out how to manipulate the code to have all the same functionalities as an AEM too. Just need time.
I'm not worried about emissions. I don't have them. I live one mile out side the county line. Plus Black stealth has a cheat fo emissions comming soon. http://www.3sgto.org/f2/my-lcd-scree...k-etc-497.html

Might be a dumb question, but is there any limitation as far as Horsepower that this can support? In the early days of this, I asked the same question and was told around 400-450 HP.

Thanks for all the effort and time you put into this. I will be donating when i get back home and start messing with my car with this. Expect a lot of question though, lol

I was seeing three and four moves ahead, weaving in and out of lanes like an Olympic skier on a gold medal run. I knew I was challenging the very laws of physics."

There was never a limit to 450hp. The stock MAF is a limitation.

Right now the limitation is about 2grams of air/cyl. I can't do the CFM calcs right now but that's the limitation because of fuel cut. I'm looking into how to double that = more HP than anyone on this forum can make.

2g/s equates out to about 730 crank horsepower at 6500rpms. 584whp assuming an 20% drivetrain loss. FYI
