That would be a tuning nightmare... You would probably have to run a piggyback to do it. When you gut the stock sensor, the ouput is no longer linear to what the ecu expects. You can often have as much as 50-60% difference in correction between idle, and WOT high RPM
I'm running a gutted and ported stock sensor with my Neo. By the math, and accounting for the amount of meth I'm spraying, I should be at -45% correction. My highest correction at 6500rpm+ is -25%. So I gained about 20% by gutting it. But at idle I'm at +31%. Wading through the fuel tables making that work sounds like more fun than I want to have...
A long time ago when I had my MAF gutted, I had the problem of it not being consistent. My tune would be fine at 11.5 AFR at full throttle, a few weeks go by and then the tune goes lean 13.5 AFR!! I quickly abandon the gutted MAF route -- I did not want the hassle of constantly retuning.
So Greg when you are all done with the active exhaust will you post the code and detailed instruction on how to input info or will it be a complete reflash?And I guess we will need some pins and wire to rewore our adaptor harnesses?And will we wire from the original 2 pins in our wiring harnesses to two new pins on the reflased ECM?
