You'll still need to clear any stored codes with EVOScan after flashing.

You're disabling the Front O2 sensor. The ECU will only use the rear for closed loop fuel corrections.
OK maybe I should paraphrase my question:

Will disabling bit 2 in periph 0 disable my front o2 sensor or do I have to disable bit06 in periph 2 called "Front 02 sensor no activity" in addition to bit 2 in periph 0?

I'll clear codes using evoscan as soon as I can

I have to dig back into the code but I'm fairly certain you only need to disable bit 2 of periphery 0.

    Ok thanks for the info.

Also about the catalyst light, since I don't even have a catalyst anymore is it relevant anymore? Can I yank out the light bulb ?

Also, why wasn't I getting the cat light with my OEM ecu ? If I don't have a catalyst anymore shouldn't it show up while having the OEM ecu also ?

Not sure if I'm asking the right questions but why do the JDM GTOs get this issue, but not the USDM cars if all of us have the same ecu/flash settings?

I'm not familiar with a cat light. We don't have this in the US cars.

What your mechanic says is true, but does not apply here. This is because on 91-95 cars, the O2 heater circuit is powered outside of the ECU, so when the 99 ECU is plugged in, the ECU software is monitoring the O2 heater power circuit inside of the ECU and is puzzled because it is not being utilized and triggers the error code. It would be a lot of unnecessary work to move the 91-95 car's O2 heater circuit to the 99 ECU, just to satisfy an OBD2 sensor check, especially since we can just turn off that particular check.

Disclaimer: I cannot confirm this information as I don't have a GTO service manual.

I think the GTO ECU uses the unused second O2 sensor wire for monitoring an Exhaust temperature sensor (0-5v) at the catalytic converter. When the GTO ECU determines it's too hot, it lights up the catalytic converter light (pin 6, which is on our US ECU is EGR solenoid). So now with the 99 flash ECU in place of the GTO ECU, whenever it tries to operate the EGR solenoid it is triggering these false positive catalytic converter light. To fix this light, just remove the light bulb, or cut the wire at pin 6 because I don't think the GTO's have an EGR solenoid.

    Gotcha!

This is an easy fix in the code too. I'll post a patch for it if I get some free time tonight!

See if they work first and if they don't, double the values then go up or down in value to get your o2 feedback trims as close to 0 as you can. Higher latency = lower o2 feedback trim.
