300+ hp base model what supporting mods do I need?

I have a 99 base 3000gt and the stock 161 hp is not enough for me. I'm planning to add a 100 shot of direct port nitrous, headers, intake, exhaust, and a few other goodies to hopefully bring it up past 300 hp. What kind of injectors or fuel pump will I need?

Are you against TT'ing it for some reason?

Eric hit 225hp with his Stealth, and has a lot done to his motor. You will never see over 300 all the time with just all motor. You need boost, or you'll only ever get the power your wanting when you turn on the juice, which I guess it seems like your ok with.

The stock TT injectors should be good (360cc) as well as a Walbro fuel pump.

Don't even waste your money on trying to get 300 hp on a SOHC. If you want more power, go TT.

And no I am not dogging on a SOHC because I own one myself. The highest HP SOHC puts down a little over 200 hp to the wheels and he has over $12,000 into the engine alone.

Supporting mods? A VR-4. You will regret spending $10k on a SOHC to get it as fast as a stock VR-4 with less reliability.

I've never really looked into the SOHC motors - the blocks are still identical to DOHC NA's aren't they? Wouldn't be too hard to swap to the DOHC rotating parts and boosting it, and would cost far less than trying to build up the SOHC.

Or am I totally up the wrong tree here? I'm really rusty when it comes to modding the 3S's I don't own.

The bare block is the same but you have to change EVERYTHING. Besides, stock DOHC ECU and harness are totally different than SOHC harness so thats another issue. Might as well throw an entire TT engine, harness and ECU in and go that route. The most diffifcult part of the conversion on a SOHC is figuring out how to wire up the alternator, because the DOHC alternator harness is in the body harness, the SOHC alternator harness is in the engine harness.

i STILL say someone with the expertise (and know how) should keep the sohc longblock intact & just modify the tt manifolds to run on it with 9b's. still use SOHC plenum, tt SMICs, SAFC2 & an MBC. only need a custom y-pipe to fit the SOHC plenum.
