I don’t think so? The benefit of the s2 box is that you have the option to run high impedance injectors and bypass/eliminate the resistor pack, but using standard low impedance injectors (with the resistor pack) should cause no issues with any EMS version. Removing the resistor pack with low impedance injectors sounds like a recipe for disaster…

Don't take my word for it. Look what AEM has to say, they built the box.
Got to the AEM website and look at the installation instructions for the EMS P/N 30-6311 top of page 7 and read what it says about injectors 1-6 Peak and hold injector drivers.

After bypassing the resistor go to the setup wizard and select a <P&H DRIVER> for your injectors. Without the resistor the injectors work much faster and you may need to remove some fuel at lower load, since they open faster.
You CAN do this, but you certainly don't have to. Nothing is wrong with using the resistor pack and saturated drivers. I've done it both ways; it's not going to cause problems like what he describes. It's only a problem if you do something brain-dead like select the P&H driver when you're using the resistor pack, or saturated driver when you're running low-impedence injectors directly.

FWIW I have an original Mods/Rev A/A box and I never had any problems, but they are on like B/C or something like that now. I'll check. What's your box Mod/Rev?

Box is current rev/mods, whatever that is (started as B/A I think its currently C/A mabye). It was sent back to AEM this past Spring for free updating. Good thought though!
