99 Headlights In 1G Buckets?

Seeing as I've been dabbling with the idea of throwing a 99 front end on my GTO, I'd be going with some kind of 2G headlight. However, I got a quote from a couple of body shops, they want in the range of $1,000 to swap out the buckets and rad support... Fuck that!

So, I was wondering if anyone might have some photos, or a method of mounting 2G projectors into 1G buckets.

If you have a drill and a welder, you can replace the buckets yourself. Only other thing you need is a spot weld cutter, and some time.

As far as lining up the buckets, how risky would you say it is?

The spot welds line up from the 1g to the 2g if memory serves. The main thing like any other project, take measurements.

I cut mine and they look great if you ask me. I found a couple pics of the mod online that i used as reference when I did mine. Not sure who's car it is...

Yep, it is possible to cut the 1st gens to get it to work. I spent the time and money to replace the buckets but if you spend a bit more time on the cutting you can probably make it look almost just as good.
