I'm with you here. I've been around 5.8...borderline... And iirc u r just over. But it seems there is some play on the border line. Been going to the gym religiously... Not so much diet change, yet. Type 2 is manageable. Good luck with it.

It can be done Granny and 5-6 months is doable. My Dr. told me I was in pre diabetes and heading towards type 2 and I needed to get a grip on it before I got there. Tests every six months had me still at the 6.2 - 6.4 range (3 tests in a 1 yr span), but in all honesty, I was not doing what he told me to do. Cut my portions and loose weight. Like I said in earlier posts I went from an average of 4 hours sleep a night to 7 hours and the weight started to come off with a little portion control. I lost 40 lbs & dropped to a 5.7 in 6 months, but had a setback last Xmas holiday season and gained 20 lbs back and that put me back to a 6.2 in January. mid-spring I got serious again and turned it around and lost that 20 plus another 7 and the August testing came back with a 5.3. 205 lbs got me to 5.3 and I have held that weight for 4 months now. The shoulder injury is preventing weight training to lower it some more, so I plan on getting creative with my own cardio workout to at least maintain during the cold months and hopefully lose a few more pounds. Don't get discouraged, but it will most likely take at least a 40# drop in weight to get you below the dividing line of normal/high. You can do eet.

Another benefit is my BP is the lowest it has been in my entire adult life, it averages 107 to 117 over 68 to 78. 140/90 used to be a common number for me and the lowest would be around 134/84.

You're a star, babe. Unfortunately, I have put on about 30 lbs since I saw you last. And the number keeps rising. :/
You can get this under control. As said before, once you get in the habit of it, it becomes much easier. We're all behind you. DDDOOOOOOO EEETTTTTTTT!!!

    You have done good.

BP has never been a problem for me.
Cholesterol and triglycerides is another thing.
Both are very elevated but my Dr says they should improve with lowering my A1C.

I agree on the 40lbs. In fact 50lbs is not out of the realm of getting back to a healthy weight.

My Hubby has been really supportive as usual and is walking with me everyday.

I'm not going to talk about numbers yet because its too soon but I was very pleased with my first weeks progress.

My proudest moments are when I am walking to the back of the grocery store to get yogurt & cottage cheese and I bypass the candy, chip & ice cream aisles.
This used to be a bad habit of mine and a weak will power moment. The more I refrain from pickin Up items from those aisles, the easier it gets.

Set your goal and refuse to give in to temptation. Easy to say but it can be done.

My sticking point now is my triglycerides also. They have come down, but are hanging right above the dividing line. My cholesterol ratio is now in range, but could be better. I have to lower the bad a bit and raise the good a point or two and I will be good. This I is tough as I eat a relatively fat free diet already. More tuna.

Changed my mind starting Monday I'm going back into intermediate fasting, and going to try cutting, weight is staying at 195ish but I'm just not losing fat like I want to.

John thanks for the insight. It's good to talk to other people trying to reach the same goals.
