Been doing a lot of reading about how I've been eating and am making more changes. I need to eat more protein and not try to fill up all the time on just veggies. I've been eating nuts, but there is a lot of fat in those so I have to change that up a bit. We are experimenting with different grains lately and one of them offers a good amount of protein and all kinds of good stuff. It's called quinoa and I like it. Just need to work it more into meals.

That's hyperthyroidism...if you haven't had it looked at, I would. Untreated hyperthyroidism can cause thyroid storm (death) or congestive heart failure (death). I'm at right about 100. I had to have my appendix removed and they had severe trouble waking me up. Its a serious condition.

Isn't hypothyroidism most likely to affect women? Statistically speaking? Either way, getting it checked is advisable.

I actually stopped and checked my blood pressure again today. I beleive Systolic was in Stage 1 Hypertension, and Diastolic was Pre hypertension. My heartrate was a normal (to me) 62 BPM. Today kinda sucked at work. I'm in charge this week and about midway through the day we had a semi catastrophic breakdown that cost us several hours of production. Also I have been limping around all day with a pulled hamstring, so those factors could have brought my blood pressure up. I really need to keep a closer eye on my blood pressure though.

Definitely keep an eye on it. Write it down and keep track. That way, when you get it checked, you'll have good references about what you were doing when it was up or down.

Your thyroid is in your neck. It can and will affect either sex without discrimination. Typically, you can get it from too much or too little salt. Iodine affects your thyroid and we eat Iodized salt. Thyroid cancer can cause your thyroid to fail...or you can have a swollen nod. You can also get it from a car accident. Whether its a small fender bender, or a traumatic accident.

A guy at my work has hypothyroidism, I have hyper. Hyper and hypo can switch over night. You can go from having an over reactive thyroid, to an under active thyroid.

They currently radiate your thyroid with nuclear pills. I'm still doing my research about that. I'm not convinced that is the right method of treatment.

Go get checked out. Your heart rate shouldn't have been close to 100. Mine has been as high as 155

I couldn't get any help treating my hyperthyroidism. It sucks sitting in the hospital while a doctor ponders your mortality rate. Its better to be safe than sorry.

An elevated heart rate could be indicative of a lot of issues. Best bet is to track it and get it checked out. Just to be sure.
