And yes "living wage" is a joke. Around here the average HOUSEHOLD income is $28,000. To say that one worker, working at a place like say the local Foodland, should be making over $20,000 just because some analyst said you can't live on less is ludicrous. You make what you EARN. If more people knew how to budget money and do without luxuries (yes pop, chips, cookies, etc are luxuries) then this country wouldn't be in such bad shape. Instead, you have lazy fucks who want to have everything handed to them and think they deserve to make $50k just because they went to school to get a garbage degree in a field that they never intend on working in.

I made $9 and hour or less for many years and guess what. I never did without. I didn't depend on any handouts. I balanced my budget enough to be able to pay my bills, put gas in my car, food in my stomach and I still had enough money to still enjoy a few luxuries.

Sooo... You're clapping because he gave an example that he made $9 an hour for many years and never did without? (Conveniently ignoring that $9 an hour is much higher than the minimum wage now, and was probably close to double what it was during the time he is talking about. Oh, and he didn't have a wife and two kids to support.) Very relevant indeed.

Minimum wage was around $7 an hour at the time. Notice I said I made LESS than $9 an hour. And so what if I didn't have a wife and kids to support. I made what I EARNED If you have a wife and kids then it is your responsibility to care for them. And if you want to go there, my brother was making about the same amount of money supporting himself, his wife, and his son. It was hard and money was tight so you know what he did? He busted his ass to make more money and find a job making more money. Now instead of making $18000 a year he makes closer to $48000 a year because he EARNS is.

Oh give me a fucking break! No, he didn't pop kids out like a pez dispenser when he couldn't afford it. I made 3 bucks an hour and lived on my own. I didn't fucking cry about it. I did something about it, I earned more. Now I make 100K because I worked very fucking hard! I'm just so sick of the crying. I've seen friends/people that had the same opportunities as me quit along the way because it was too hard or somebody made them mad. Now they bitch about the economy and they cant find a job.

    That's why I clap

You seem to keep arguing that people make what they earn... which is irrelevant to the topic of a living wage. Shrug. You didn't even read the links, if you'd like to argue about living wage and the pros and cons, your own personal examples aren't going to cut it.

Give me a break and read the links to have an informed opinion of what a living wage actually does. I think you'd be surprised.

If you want to admit that you don't understand the topic and the links in question I'll understand that perfectly.
