Very true, that was a dangerous assumption on my part, but it does look like a 3x with a corner ground off.

Do you still have your original precat? If so, have you tried mounting it to see if it hit the bracket? It could be the way the precat is welded, as in incorrectly.

No I dont, I sold them a few years ago after I bought these. Guess I will just make it fit and then make the down pipe for it.

I've installed their precats as well as T1 TD-04 header/precat kits. They pretty much all do that. Basically you have to redeck the precat to turbo flange to get the downpipe aligment correct. Take a straightedge and scribe a flush line on the flange whe the precat is installed. Take the flange to a belt sander and redeck it.

Another thing I've found with the kits, you have to pull the bracket and shave about a 1/8" off the shoulder of the dowpipe flange. You also have to install the trans as the bracket will shift out of the way when fitted.

Lastly, when you test fit the engine with the trans and all plumbing/piping installed you'll find you have to use a peen hammer and dent the precat so it doesn't clip the subframe.

When you fit the engine fully assembled... trans, manifolds, turbos and make those adjustments the bracket will mount.

A question back at you, do you have a solid dowpipe or does it have a flex section in it? Reason why I ask, the precats sometimes crack if the dowpipe is solid.

Damn that sucks. I don't have a down pipe yet, I an buying things as I get to that point. This has been a 3 year build with most of the putting back together happening in the last month or so.

can you borrow a downpipe from someone local to make the adjustments?

i dont know if i can or not, i am not really worries about matching it to a downpipe, i just want it to fit in the car, once it fits i can have a downpipe modded to fit.
