I plunked down my cash for them. Now, I have to wait for the money to make its way there, and the wheels and tires to make their way back. The rims have summer Dunlop SP Sport mounted, so they will end up in storage for a few more months, though, while I wait for the snow to come and go.

i think its gonna be close, wheel design plays a big roll.i have enkei rpf1's 17 8.5 with a +40 and they were as close to the caliper as the stock 18"chromies which i believe was a +46 offset.

Looks like bad news. I have $2K worth of rims here, and there is no way the spokes will clear the brake calipers. I would be lucky to make it with a 10mm spacer, which brings up another question. How much spacer is too much?

Get spacers. I think most peoples bad experience with spacers is due to not using hubcentric spacers. So be sure to get hubcentric spacers so you don't get any vibration issues. I know people running 20mm spacers. No problem. If you don't have enough threads you can go with bolt on spacers.

Like these? I expect I will want both front and rear, to keep the wheels positioned the same?

you need to have enough thread for the wheelnut. so check that. if you dont then use bolt-on. and yeah to keep them alighned the same front and read you might need spacers for both front and rear. depends. just measure and see

Hope you don't plan on getting on the open road tracks with spacers.

Why do you say that, Steve? Now you got me worried, again, that spacers are a bad thing.

You will get mixed opinions on this topic but the members here that race / autoX believe that spacers have no business on the track.
