you could go 16g's, dr 800's, 1000's, or even 1200's. there are also some smaller PTE turbos you could use with a smaller a/r to keep spool quick.

i disagree with people seeing "regular 600+ awhp" on the stock bottom end. name 3 people off the top of your head who have run it like that for more than a year, because i cant think of any. maybe adam, but im not 100% on what his car puts down. i think its right around 600.

IMO i say be safe rather than sorry. you dont want to do a build, grenade a piston, and have to restart with a fresh longblock. its a lot of time, money, and effort. but im also not the one with the money to do this build, so its easy for me to sit here and type that
rise and rise again until lambs become lions

MTC is actually in the testing stages of their custom TD05's, I would probably wait for the results before I made any decisions.

I went and looked at them after ya'll mentioned it, and I think I will. Won't be purchasing mine for a month or two anyway, so I can wait and see what they do.

You know there is some modifications needed to be done to run that 3.5 right? Also you won't have as much room for larger twins. With DR750's you can get a lot of power without lag in a pretty close to stock configuration. If you can save a grand by using the 3.0 then I'd say you might want to consider the 750's.

Some real good advice in this thread

Are you talking about MTC billet TD05's?

@green-lantern I went and looked at the link that he gave me.

As far as whether to go 3 or 3.5. Still deciding, I have both that I can use. I guess the decision is based on will it be more expensive to use the 3.5 and some smaller turbos or use the 3 and the bigger turbos? Also, what will the power difference be?

had someone on 3SI tell me I should just follow Ray's lead:

i remembered why i hate going to the tracks near me which is going to jersey(4 hours each way in jersey/NY gridlock traffic and road work) the track also sucked.. no traction at all and a HUGE problem going faster than 11.49.

i was there from 5:30 till 10pm and got 3 runs in yaaaay anyway

    run 1
11.44 at 123 1.9 60ft planted on the limiter through 1st hitting fuel cut etc.

    run 2
    11.80 at 118 1.87 60ft missed third somehow lol

    run 3
10.97 at 126 1.7X 60ft still spinning badly and game over. runs 1 and 3 they sent me to the tower and wont give me a time slip because they were faster than 1.49 hahaha super gayy.
we took some vids and had the NY boys with me for the night.

i still think its got a 10.70-80 in it if i had traction (i went 11.29 with a 1.64 60ft with less power)

dynoed right before i left at 523awhp 579awtq and weighed 3825 at the track

    mods...
    take stock car and add

    DR650 billets
    550 injectors
    walbro pump and hot wire
    afc/maf translator
    rps clutch
    down pipe no cats
    manual boost control
    hard pipe kit
    shiney stuff

if its not listed here.. its stock

What are yalls thoughts? I was thinking to do what Ray did on my 3.0 that is currently in there, that way I can build the 3.5 on the stand and do it slower and make sure everything is perfect

You are wanting to run Dr650s on the 3.5 later on? If so, the td04 will choke the 3.5

the only TD04's I would run on a 3.5 is the 750's, IIRC Matt first put them on his 3.5, then bolted them up to his stock engine, just to see what the max was on a stock 3.0.

Even then I bet the DR750's would be a choking point on a 3.5.

The 750's did choke his 3.5

    I would only run TD04's in a 3.0-3.1 setup.
