My winter build

This is going to be my first build, so bear with me on some of the noob questions as i'm sure they are going to arise.

I know that I can use my stock TT block, add some 15G's, some 550cc Injector's, a Walbro fuel pump, and a SAFC II and make around 450... but i'm looking for something a bit more. I don't have a huge budget, but I have a lot of time and access to an awesome mechanic and any machine shop or anything of the sort that I could need.

I'm thinking about going the 3.5L route with some DR650's.

I'm still in the research stage, so comments and ideas are welcome

Instead of the 3.5 & 650's, why not just get some 750's?

Another option would be to wait for MTC to release their TD04's.

if you are thinking of going with a 3.5 that is far from a stock block...

decide your horsepower goals then proceed from there. its generally better to think large because most people like to go bigger than their initial build is aimed for

@futurevr4man The way mb3000 wrote it, it sounded like he was saying to not go 3.5 and 650s but just go 750. thats what my comment meant, but now that i reread it i see that he just meant to say why 650s when there are 750s. And thats a good point, most people I know do end up going a bit higher from their initial plan

You said that you had a reasonable budget for the build, and the price difference from 650's to 750's would be around the same if not less than a 3.5 and the 650's. In all honesty a 3.5L should have TDO5 or larger.

Also, just puttin this out there......why would u consider adding any displacement when looking at td04s? The 3.5 would get strangled to breath up top. Honestly id ditch the built bottom end idea for know, our stock bottom ends have seen regular 600+ awhp numbers, and the few brave ppl (Chris hill formerly of 3sx and now of ninja performance) pushed his stock block to 730 without touching it. State your power goals and where you want the power to be- ie do u want Goo gobs of torque down low? Do u want something a Lil more laggy and manadgeable without converting the tires from a solid to a gas off the line so u can hook? Honestly, leave it a 3.0, wait for MTC as stated, then convert your 15gs into something billet they offer

Well, I was thinking about going the 3.5L route because I have a 6G74 just sitting there not doing anything. But I see what you are saying about the turbo's. So if I DO go 3.5, what turbos do you suggest? Stealthlabel already tried to tell me to go single rather than twin, but I want to keep it twin.
