The ISC opens in relation to coolant temp as well (as controlled by the ECU) so cold idle shouldn`t be horrendous.
I`ve internally blocked off the FIAV and car starts/runs/idles fine.
GTO-TT, PTE 1200's, M20, Emanage Ultimate, OS Geiken R3C,
TD04-16g`s, Maf-t. 13g`s 12.4@115mph / 16g`s 12.5@117mph.

Same problem but I solved it by pounding a 2mm square drive bit into the head and then they turned out like they were socket head to begin with
I used chrome socket head cap screws and separate lock washers. They don't have to be captive as you're probably not going to take this apart very often.
Adam, you need to hang out in chatbox for longer, otherwise I could have saved you some effort and money.

I think I used www.chromebolts.com and www.afchromebolts.com.
I guess I should read the links before I ask but other than saving 30 seconds unhooking the hoses and a few drops of coolant is there any other advantages to leaving them off? I guess if I was at the track and wanted to change the gap or plugs while the engine was still warm it would be an advantage but other than that I've never seen the reason to leave them off. A buddy of mine complains more about these problems than anything else but he wont hook them back up.
