    Wheel Speed sensor

I've been tryin' to remove mine for the past hour. I was told that all you had to do was remove the bolt and it would "pop right out". Well, mine is rusted to hell and back. Do you have to remove the caliper and rotor? I'm beginning to think that there's a clip or somethin' on the inside I wasn't told about. Anybody that has done this give me a little hint please. Thanks

    It IS rust.

Apply as much penetrate as you can and work slowly. They are easy damage if you use the wrong tool and pry....

Guess I'll have to get a NEW can of PB Blaster. The one I have is almost gone. I was trying not to pry too much on it anyway.

Would it hurt to twist it? If I even can.

Be careful not to "crush" it with whatever you use to try!

I got the side "away" from the dustcover loosened about a 1/4 inch. I was afraid there was somethin I had missed holding it from the other side so I quit. I'll go back to work on it some more

Good luck. I've removed them from rusty holes by turning back and forth, but I've also broken them with that same method. Most important thing is to take your time and be careful if you really need to save the sensor.

The reason I'm even tryin' to get them out is to clean them. Coz my ABS is engaging during normal braking. It is also causing the idle to rise to 2k until I get down to about 10 mph.

Disable the garbage ABS and make life a lot less stressful.

If you are still insistent on removing and cleaning the sensors, just keep at it. One time it took me two hours to remove a sensor from a parts car.

I've already pulled the relay for it. But, the idle goin up to 2K above 10mph is what's botherin me

My TT was just recently doing the exact same symptoms. The only way I temperarily corrected it was to unplug the ABS module, located behind the rear passenger side panel. Easy enough to try as you only have to unhook the front of the panel for access-you dont have to fully remove panel. try it-
