I never thought a seized power steering pump would wreak so much havoc. It seized up last night and took the belt with it. Well, little did I know Toyota uses the serpentine belt to drive the WATER PUMP. I must have driven the car 20-30 miles without the belt on, all the time not paying any attention to the temp gauge MAXED OUT!
I found a temporary bypass belt and threw it on. Now the car gets hot as it is driven at higher speeds, cools down at idle, and I get both p0115 (ECT sensor malfunction) and p0171 pending code (system too lean bank 1). Did I completely fuck the head and destroy my head gasket or what?
