Thread: Anyone know how to adjust rear tie rods?

Anyone know how to adjust rear tie rods?

The front tie rods have square sections that you can put a wrench on, but the rear doesn't have that. How do you adjust the rod? Just wrap something around the thread and gently use pliers?

Can't find the answer in the manual or online. No search here brings anything up. And since 3si.org has problems, I can't search there.

Background: I've adjust the camber and toe in the rear via the cam bolts and need to match up the tie rods.

    Thanks,

Loosen the jamb nut, then disconnect the tie rod end from the trailing arm. Turn the tie rod until it just drops into the hole on the trailing arm. Tight it all up.

Thanks Hans. That info I had, but couldn't find a way to turn the tie rod to adjust it. The front has a separate square section for it. But after wiping off the crud I found that the thread on the rear tie rod has two flat sides to put a wrench on.
    All back together know.
