    Netflix, You Done Goofed

It's nice to see a direct impact from the people

Netflix loses 800,000 subscribers & decides to cancel Quixter

I'm glad they dropped the Quixter idea.

Still not happy with the price increase, but I hope they find a way to provide subscribers with more for their money.

I'm one of the 800,000 and I don't think I would go back even if they offered the old service at the original price.
I've had enough time to realize I can live without it. Bad mistake on their part.

While a loss of 800,000 seems huge it only represents a 3% loss of the 25 millions subscribers they started with. When you consider the price increase their net income is probably unaffected if not higher than is was.

What the change in pricing did it let them know the number of paying streaming subscribers they actually have. This gives them a better feel for when they should/can spend on streaming contracts.

IMO, qwikster was just a diversion to make people forget about the price increase.

I am almost to the point on canceling my subscription. The streaming content selection is really crappy now. I usually log on and spend 30 min looking at the movies to find nothing good or find things I have already seen!!! Their streaming content is more crap movies now than anything. I noticed most of the streaming movies they have are low ratings!!

Same here. I rarely ever use it anymore. Especially with football season on again.

I never used the streaming. When they announced the price changes I changed my plan to get one more DVD for the same price I was paying. I then split my queue and setup a separate queue for Lori and stuff she likes.

Now that is a good idea!! I'll have to look into that as I am sure my wife would love to have her owe DVD queue.

We were at 3 at a time. (I did hog it a "bit"). The 4 at a time is actually about $1 more than we were paying but for us its a better package.

Once you split the queue the second(or 3rd/4th...) user gets their own login and you can control how many DVD's each queue gets. (min one per queue)
