Thread: in need of bearing stay caps.

    in need of bearing stay caps.

    i am starting back on the rebuild of my tt motor and when i pulled the bottom end off there were no bearing stay caps. does any one have some they want to sell or know of a place where i can get some. thanks in advance.

    Do you have pictures? You mean the girtle stays? They're missing? Where did you get the block from?

    I can post some pictures later on. That might be the same thing, they are called beating stay caps in me shop manual. The motor was in the car when I bought the car. it is not the original motor.

    Are you supposed to have a 2 bolt or 4 bolt? So you stripped the engine and they're missing?

    Its a 92/93 motor. 2bolt with a forged crank. Yes, when I stripped the motor to start the rebuild I noticed that they were missing.

    I have a 91 TT with a 92/93 motor thats a 2 bolt with a forged crank. the parts were missing when I pulled the oil pan off.

    1991 Stealth RT/TT forged crank, new pistons/bearings/rings, T16's ceramic coated, precat deletes ceramic coated, full exhaust, FMIC, Dijon intake pips, adjustable cam gears.

    this is my block, you can see the 4 bolt holes there the brackets line up to.

    nope, mine are in my motor where they belong

    They were missing. LOL..If you wanted used ones out of an N/A (If they have them) I could look for them..But Im guessing they dont because of the <Turbo> part.
