Will see once they arrive lol. The only concern is that the front core blocks too much of the flow to the rear core. Will look into it anyway. Failing that I'll just use them as a template to make some of my own. Welding the end tanks for a new set would be easy. The only hard part is welding that to the core. I'd get my mate to do that part. I think with time [and lots of it] and a good workshop I could make my own for very cheap.

I would agree except when I've looked into it the cores were $400 each for GOOD CORES.

what is probably more important than the loss of pressure is the decreased backpressure...your going to have twice the flow potential...that will do wonderful things, as long as you have the right air guides don't worrya bout the air getting blocked.

If the cores are in good condition [ie the fins are not all bent etc] then it shouldn't be an issues. However mine are buggered. If these other ones are in better condition then i'll swap them over until I get around to doing somethign about this idea. I will of course lof the intake temps with both and see if it makes any difference. My intake air temp sensor is now on the y-pipe instead of the MAF so it should show any improvements.

just throw a logger with temp before and after each IC...that'll tell you everything you need to know apart from flow and pressure decrease.

Don't have a logger. I just use the intake temp on the Vi-PEC. There is a logger program for it but it will use the standard sensors.
The other option for cores is to buy a bog arse FMIC core and cut it in half and down to size. You then just need to have very good welding skills to weld the plate on the end. Will talk to my mate as he's a welder/engineer and also used to build show cars etc so when it comes to welding intercoolers, manifolds and exhausts etc I haven't seen better.

LMK how you go, I got quoted 2K for any sized intercooler core I wanted cut/piped/endcased and fitted.

SSM will have a kit soonish but the origional price IIRC was going to be $940 for the complete kit now he says that's just for the cores. Will see what he ends up with I guess.

What was the max size you calculated that will fit? I remember you spent some time on it a while ago.
