When we got the vr4 it it had a stamp on the back of the title for a lean. The person we bought the car from (John) had brought it up from California, he never titled it because it wasn't running at the time but he fell into hard times and needed to sell it. At some point John lost the lean release so we called the credit union (out in California) and they confirmed that there was no lean on it anymore, however they said they would only send the lean release to the person on the title (aka guy out in California that John bought the car from)... so we ended up just buying the car for less, figuring that we would just make a track car out of it anyways. We sent the title in being we figured if WI DMV checked on the lean they'd see it was released even though we didn't have the paper. Well that was 5 months ago and we've never gotten the title back or heard from the DMV. So as of right now this car has no title which is why we're selling it for so cheap.
