Pampena 3.5 Stroker, GTX 2867 Gen IIs, AEM Series2, oohnoo SMIC, DN Hardpipes, FIC 1650s, Walbro 525, aermotive fpr, Dejon intake pipes, Tial Q, Koyo Rad, Samco Hoses, Stoptech 332mm fronts, HKS GT4 Coilovers, Spec 4+ LW, JDM 6 Speed, Billet shift forks, Pampena brace

be careful if you try breaking these in on stock fuel fellas
I'm not, but keep in mind these will run about 12 PSI with the boost controller off and that is only in 2nd, it will probably be more in higher gears.
The butt dyno says the car is as fast as it has ever been with the boost controller off and afr's factory rich. I guess my engine was more tired than I thought.
Oh, btw I installed a balance tube last week. It has improved drive ability, especially around 0 psi, but I can still get the car to surge pretty bad around 6 PSI and part throttle. This spot will probably not be hit as much once I turn up the boost.

well a little bit of crappy news. I had a belt squeak that I thought was the alternator belt, so I replaced that and it was gone for a few days, but now has come back.
After further investigation it really sounds like the water pump. I re-used my old pump because it only had like 15K miles on it and it was a new oem. I think that sitting over the winter without coolant in it must have dried the seals up and the bearing has been damaged.
I can't justify the $450 on oem timing components at the moment, so I picked up a bosch new waterpump for $55 and a timing kit fromgates (TCK195) for $50 from amazon. Going to re-use the tensioner as it is also low mile.
I'm not reusing the belt because the squeak made be the belt slipping on the water pump pulley and it may be worn from that. So now I have a belt with 135 miles on it going in the trash lol.
Just sucks because I want to make the NG and with major bugs like this still coming up I have a feeling I'm going to have to stay home.

Water pump can go bad from sitting dry? Do new ones have some special lubricant?
Do you have a kevlar belt, if so... BINGO!
Help them, for they know not that which they do not know!

yea your totally right. the oem timing components are not cheap. i just had to buy all that. ouch lol.

fyi it turned out to be my compressor clutch.
2nd FYI the balance tube didn't do SHIT. In the cold mornings I have to alter my driving to avoid the problem.
