Engine's Out! Winter build has started

Well I decided to do a lot more this year than I planned. Engine is getting:

Forged Crank
Probably Bore/Hone
Ported and Rebuilt Heads
DR750s
Bigger meth kit
Jackhammer timing Gears

Depending on the condition of the stock pistons and block I will either just re-ring or go forged with forged rods.

Engine pull was actually pretty easy. I had a good friend helping and we started at about 11:30 and had the engine on the ground by 7:30. That includes running around town for an hour picking up some supplies and working in our extremely cramped garage. Plus we eat some lunch.

It is really so easy that I'm really glad I just tore into it and did it. This was actually the most fun I ever had working on the car.

hope so. I was debating on a t3/t4 setup from matt or a IPS 16G kit, but I just don't think I would like the lag.

I figure if I'm going to do all this crap I may as well get the best turbo setup I can and be done with it.

You'll enjoy them, best turbo setup ive ever driven to date. Now that Todd's car is working 100% its just silly how quick it is considering they are a TD04 turbo.

Did a 40-110 pull and it couldnt have been over 5 seconds. Very very fast car.

subscribed, and i agree with jason. for stock displacement, 750's are the king.

I thought the motor was good and the leakdown and compression numbers were good? You're going to crack it open?

yeah it was, but it needs a forged crank anyway. The last thing I want to do is put a bunch of crap through my new turbos.

It also needs a trans overhaul. So, with those two facts in mind it doesn't really make sense to not go through the whole thing. If the pistons, rings, and cylinder walls are perfect I'll just swap the crank and be on my way.

Shouldn't be any serious balance issues changing the crank should there?
