will do, waiting on some stuff to come in. tactrix looks to be here today. the stock maf I don't know if its been shipped yet. The evo maf is supposed to be here tomorrow, but the pigtail hasn't shipped yet.

Probably going to swap out the ecu tomorrow and see if it will fire up on the reflashed box with the maft zeroed out.

Don't get me wrong, the tune wasn't bad, it was perfectly driveable and the afr's looked ok, it is just that the idled surged and died on the down swing if I wasn't careful.

Did you go back and recheck the compression? I have gotten a low cylinder when its the first one I check on a cold engine, but if I go back and try it then it reads normal. If still an issue, go back and do a leakdown and you should be able to find the problem.

I also had some diry oil that came from some pocket inside the air path that coated a couple valves and caused a slight leak, right after my last rebuild, I blasted it really good with some brake cleaner and some air and it was fine after that, also started runnin a catch can after that too, it came out of the front valve cover pcv valve.

OK fellas I have some good news. I installed my 99 SL ecu and flashed a tune on it thanks to Greg. I'm running an EVO 8 maf now and the 550 injectors with the emanage ultimate zero'd out completely. It fires right up and revs fine sitting in nuetral. I have not gone further because I have no air filter at the moment.

The great news is that I rechecked my compression on the front three since it was warmed up. Oddly one thing I noticed when I cranked it up earlier is that the starter sounded really even like it used to. The compression for the front three comes out to:

    1 3 5
    160 155 160

Just about spot on perfect, I'm super happy. I'm not sure what the problem was before. Maybe it needed just one more heat cycle. I don't know, but I will check it again in a few hundred miles. I also do not hear the noise I hear last time, so it must have been a lifter.

well the cel light came on right away. I thought it would just be a bit I forgot to turn off but I have 3 real codes:

    P0120 Throttle Position circuit.
    P0110 Intake Air Temperature circuit.
    P0105 Barometer Pressure circuit.

The TPS seems to move linearly. the temp being reported is 77 and the baro is 97.02. The idle flag never comes on in evoscan, maybe this is why the tips error is popping up. As far as the other two I'll double check the wiring, but it should be good, I soldered and used heat shrink tubing on all of it. Anything else to check?

I thought about this a bit and I think I unplugged both the TPS and the MAF while the key was on earlier, so I'm going to reset the codes and see if they come back.

that looks like it was the problem. I reset the DTCs and they haven't come back. The values from the iat and baro are also slightly different than they were. It shows 2 degrees colder which I can believe.
