Need help clocking the wiper transmission linkage!!

I never thought this would need to be a thread.

When I turn on the wiper circuit without the wipers attached it pops fuses.

I took everything out of the engine bay to paint it and instead of popping the ball off of the crank arm on the wiper motor I took the arm off.

I didn't mark it because I didn't think it mattered, still don't know if it does.

The motor works fine on the bench, and without the motor plugged in the switch works fine and I get voltage in both the high and low speed terminals on the connector.

As soon as I put it all together it blows the fuse.

Using a small car charger on the 2 amp setting I can work the motor in the car. I watch the nubs and they park in the wrong place. I have tried in a few different places, but I'm out of fuses now, so until tomorrow...

BTW, it worked fine before I took it apart, so the parts should be fine...

Thanks Jim, That did help. It now seems to park where it should. I still haven't put the arms back on it yet. However, It's still not completely functional. I'm narrowing it down, slowly. With the wiper motor plugged in, it pops the fuse as soon as I turn the key. I'm assuming because it's trying to park itself? I put jumper wires between the connector and the high and low speed terminals. They work fine, they don't park, but they don't blow the fuse.. I'll look at the wiring diagram some more til I figure it out... I would like to throw a new motor at it for fun, but it worked before I painted the engine bay, so I really doubt its bad..

    Thanks again!
