As some of you already know, I have a thread going on the other site showing some of my custom machining I've done for 3/S'ers. For those of you that don't here are the details. I'll try to keep this updated as more projects come along.
I am a CNC machinist, I am offering custom parts/tools that anyone might need. I work in Stainless, Aluminum, Steel, Brass and likely whatever else you can think of. I have a 3 axis CNC Mill, and CNC Lathe, CNC Plasma Cutter, full welding compliment, 3/16" 10' shear, 10' brake press, tubing bender (NON mandrel). I can do limited powdercoating (fits in regular oven, black only), or I have a shop nearby that I can get to do powdercoating with different colors. Polishing is avail at additional cost, though I am currently not accepting outside parts to polish. Also, I am not currently interested in doing head porting, If I ever do, I will be sure to inform everybody. My mill is only 3 axis and you really need a 4th do do head porting right.
Current prices (as of 9/11/11) are as follows for basic parts (pretty much anything you would see on 3sx) and does not include shipping:
Spark Plug Coverplate - $50 raw, $80 brushed, $90 polished
Center vent 3 gauge pod - $35 raw , $40 brushed, $50 polished
Radio trim 3 gauge pod - $40 raw, $45 brushed, $55 polished
Lower door trim plate (plain design) - $40 raw, $50 brushed, $60 polished
Strut tower bars front/rear price is each (custom design price included, depending on complexity) - $125 raw, $135 brushed, $150 polished.
Door Sill Cover (3sx style) - $90 raw, $100 brushed, $130 polished
EGR plates - $25 (raw finish with engraving)
I also now machine turbocharger housings as well (similar to what RobBeck used to do). I recently completed a set for another member - consisted of new Kinugawa 19t TD04HL CHRA, new 19t compressor housing and bored out TD04 (stock) to HL turbine housings. Client supplied parts in this instance and was $440 + shipping. I will bore out 9b compressor housings too if required.
(As for the Kinugawa parts, for those wondering, I'm honestly impressed with the quality of parts, and would gladly put these on my own car any day of the week)
Pricing for machining turbos are as follows (and are for TWO turbos):
Exhaust housing TD04 to upgrade size: $440 (2 payments of $220), $400 (all up front)
Compressor housings: $440 (2 payments of $220), $400 (all up front)
If you are wanting to get BOTH sides done (compressor AND turbine housing), I will do the other side for an additional $100 each ($540 for both compressor and turbine housings to be done on 2 turbos)
Work includes boring out YOUR housings, extracing broken studs if required, any other damage repaired, sleeving of compressor housings, reinforcement of turbine housing and anything else that comes along for the job. I do NOT balance/rebuild CHRA's, not my area of expertise. If you are wanting me to do this, I will have them sent out to a reputable shop, and I will pass along the bill +20% to you.
For example - upgraded to a 19t TD04HL from 9b TD04, using stock housings (full bolt on no further modifications necessary), new Kinugawa CHRA (comes balanced) would run $1400 plus shipping (assuming I get the CHRA for you, cheaper if you buy and ship to me). Compare that to $1620 and $3130from other sources!
If you have ANY questions, please PM me and I will get back to you ASAP. I am more than happy to undertake any NON 3/S work as well and am capable of full production work.
WANTED
I am also interested in old oil pumps. I'm working on modifying them to accept higher flowing gears. I will need 1 (one) of each type of pump avail (I would prefer to start with an 91-92 VR-4 so I can test on my own vehicle (mine is a DD so I can't take it off and tinker with it at the moment). Will need early (91-92) and late (93-99) pumps for TT, DOHC and SOHC. I will only be working on 1 (one) pump at a time initially to keep things simple for me.
For those that are interested in being the first ones in, deal is as follows - send me your old pump (you pay shipping), let me know what vehicle it is for (I will need to make jigs to hold all of this stuff), and you can have the work done for free, minus the cost of the gears, new seals and shipping. Turnaround would be around 4-6 weeks (time enough for me to appropriate machine time at the shop, work out the process and procure the new gears). Any subsequent pump of that design will be priced normally (no freebies after that).
I will warranty the pump from defects in workmanship for 6 months, non transferrable. Any damage resulting from using the pumps is not my problem, as I can't control installation procedures and quality. Gears will be coming from a reputable manufacturer (will release who when worked out). I reccomend that the pickup, bolts and gaskets be replaced at time of installation.
