    cruise delete - rubbing cable

Just deleted my cruise. As soon as I sat in the seat to test out the feel (engine off), I noticed the throttle was louder and kind of rubbing. So I get down to see what's up and realize that the stock cable is angled down to accommodate the drop in height of the pedal. The new set up is going straight, which is causing the cable to rub since it has to angle down to reach the pedal.

I love the no cruise, but am pretty weary of the rubbing throttle cable. Obviously, everyone else who has done the free cruise delete also has the rubbing cable. Any remedies?

Vacuum reduction, Powdercoated misc, cruise relocate, Evo9 BOV, Custom catch cans, Russell fuel filter, SS braided fuel lines, High flow fuel loop, Autogage fuel gauge, Catless DP, DNP Y-pipe, Fuel pump hotwire.

Did you use washers on the firewall?

I know what you mean, I've considered adapting the original firewall cable tube on to the new throttle cable. I've got a lot of other projects going on with the car at the moment and need to stay focused but at some point I will get back to that issue.

Yes. It's just that the cable extends straight out instead of at an angle, so it rubs on the housing.

I'm wondering if I can maybe put something around the cable right at the end so when it slides in and out, it has something to move with instead of against.

Just went out to the car and looked, now I see what you're talking about. My only thought would be to use another plastic clip (part # MA152079, $1.46) and stuff it in there to help with the rubbing.
