Nah, you're confusing ECU with ECM - Engine Control Module. We wouldn't want to confuse tribal knowledge with standards now would we??

Yup, I'm hoping one day to see a thread like "All 2nd gen ECUs (engine control units) can be easily programmed like the 99 ECU."

You people who still hold onto this bullshit need to understand what the terms "one-time programmable EPROM" and "Mask ROM" mean.

I hope that one day Tom will get back to the hardware side of figuring this out. Until then 98-99 Ecu's for me.

    YES

    I

    KNOW

My post was a half hearted joke that didn't require such a rude response. I know the ECU as it sits cannot be programmed the way we want.

Even a One-Time PROM would be a cool option (get the bulk of the injector correction done at the ECU level). Too bad the topic post is misleading, as the poster didn't include one important adjective, only misleading us.

The current 98/99 flashable ECU solution is so fantastic that we don't have to look at any other solutions, especially since the flashable ECU can be made to work on all year model stealths/3000GTs.
