The rear turbo already does have some supports welded on to the manifold, it is second nature for the stainless manifolds to crack due to the way that stainless expand and contracts when heated and cooled the welds are always going to be the weakest part of the manifold as they create a hardened area eather side of the weld, the best way to avoid this would be to have thicker wall manifolds but there is always going to be a weight trade off.
As I said in my original post, the cracks in my manifold could easily been caused by the turbo being slamed up against the bulkhead by hard launches with very shot engine mounts, the force would be like hiting the manifold with a sledge hammer.

Here's a question regarding fabricating ducting, I know thin aluminum sheets can be used, but what kind of plastic can I buy to make plastic ducting that is a similar material to the OEM ducting?

I'll look into this at work today. Ideally you want something you could lay a straight edge across and bend into shape. There are a couple of options but the material names are escaping me.

just another thought i had today on the copper vs. aluminum argument....

cotton absorbs more moisture, but under-armor wicks it away faster.

Sorry for not having chance post results. I trim the upper openings to give it 3and inches off the intercooler. The cover made a natural ducting effect and car runs cool like it should drove it for 2hrs today no issue so thanks to alex3000gt.
