Weight and type of metal of stock hood?

I'm trying to determine whether I'm going to scrap metal my hood or crush it with a forklift and throw it in the trash.

Scrap metal place said that if it's steel then it's worth $4.65

Is it made out of steel? Its a 92 from a VR4, and weighs maybe 55 pounds? It's gonna cost me $5 in gas just to get there and back. So I'm leaning towards crushing it and throwing it in the trash.

Crush it... it's steel. At $15/100 lbs, you may get $7 for it LOL.

I've had my hood sitting in the garage for about 6 years now. I can't bring myself to trash it because it's in such good shape. Someone will need it some day. I hope....
