not your car though, jason.
i'm not a fan of meth--that's all. if bigger HP is what you're after, increase the size of the displacement, or the size of the turbos.

Im doing all 3, bigger engine, big ass turbo and a lot of meth
Everything is a trade off, the 750's get you stock like power delivery but can make 600awhp and bolt on and fit w/o bullshit or drama. You can build a car like Todds 97 over the course of two weekends and everything fits exactly as it should.
There is a lot to be said about a bolt on turbo that fits under the stock heat shields, allows fitment of everything as it should and can lay the smack down on a C6 Z06 from a freeway roll.
The only trade off, is if you want real power, you need to run a 500 dollar meth system and monitor knock in real time all the time.
Jason
i don't like monitoring knock.![]()
Well, heres what happens when you dont.
First you do this:
Then you find this
Then a ton of money later, you're back to this:
That happened at 22-23psi with the same everything that capable of running upper 20's. If you are making any real power, you need to keep tabs on shit all the time. Just because something worked right for 6 pulls its not time to pack up the gear and call it good. We did that and it cost over 6k to fix.
Jason
i'm joking.
i like being on the safe side, so pure pump. tune till you get 1 count of knock, and then back it off a psi or 2. that's where i'll run and i won't have to freak out about parts failures excessively.
Then you'll need a lot of engine and a lot of turbo to make respectable power.
Not that thats a bad thing to have
Jason
Lol. Mike's just going to create a new thread when he retunes his car, adds any part or adjusts one, turns up his boost another psi, etc. :P So I don't feel bad for hijacking the thread.
You guys should get one of Black Stealth's LCD boost controllers to monitor knock. I don't have it installed but I'm looking forward to it and hopefully it'll allow me to ditch the Blitz SBC-iD although it'll be hard to compete with its nice features.
I don't see why anyone shouldn't run meth on a TD04 setup either. Just get a bigger tank if you're worried about running out and don't want to check it as often. Setup a failsafe. I may or may not run meth depending on how much of the time I decide to run E-85. Long trips where I have to run 91 would be nice to have additional meth on top of pump when ethanol isn't available although if I keep my foot out of it i won't need it.![]()
I'm getting rid of my 93, buying a Stealth, hopefully getting some DR-750s if I don't miss out on the current price before they go up, and I'll run them for all they're worth. At that point if I decide I want more power I'll swap my stroker and 5857 turbos in. I want to try out the broad torque band of the DR-750s and right now I just don't have time for a big project. Soon I want to jump into a flashed ECU.

wow, no shit hijacked! lol OK, so really, this was a comparison thread not a thread abou thow awesome the 750's are. "we know they are good" but this isnt the place. I wanted to let people who have been asking about the difference between the two wheels and ten gets made into how awesome the DR 750's are. I dont disagree, just dont talk about them in this thread. Start a "DR-750's" are amazing and i want to fuck the inlet snouts cause they will spool faster" thread. k thx

I was only commenting on thinking its crazy not to run water/meth on a td04 car and used the 750 car I built as an example why...
Jason
E85 ftw
