I guess the positive is that he will be parking his rear end in his 1991 VR4, once he can drive again

    Bummer

I do like the idea of him driving the vr4 though. Probably not going to be quite as reliable.

I know. Going through what you two have, even if you are physically able to drive I'm sure mentally the prospect is pretty disconcerting.

I know there are a lot of old timer guys out there who live breathe and die Corvettes, but from what I've seen, the C5 and C6 don't have as passionate a following as the older (even the C4) Vette did. Whether this is due to other manufacturers coming out with sports cars of their own that are more appealing, or just my observances in my geographical area only... The C5/6 models aren't looked at as collectible, at all. I remember when I was looking to buy my very first Stealth TT, back in 1995, I had 17k to spend. I could afford a 300hp, 1991 Stealth TT, for about 15-16k, or I could get a 86-87 Corvette with far less horsepower and dated looks. However, that was the going rate... they were all viewed as collectible.

If you want a Vette in the future, you won't have a problem finding one for sale if you decide to go that route again.
