99 sails on a stealth?

sail conversions are a PITA. you're usually MUCH better off just buying a 3kgt.

you need the 99 sails, 3kgt windows, and a lot of patience/luck. and the right tools. you're probably better off having a professional automotive glass shop do the work.

p.s.

if memory serves, you were wanting to do a 99 front conversion too. you REALLY should just buy a 99, or a 99 converted 3kgt & start there. even if you did want the r/t rear end, swapping that to a 3kgt is a lot less pita, imho.

You also need a welder and metal work to make it work.

true dat. you'll need the metal sail panel off a 3kgt and weld it to the b-pillar on the stealth. i forgot about that, because i'm doing the 3kgt > stealth sail, and you can remove that piece without too much difficulty.

Is there anything else I could do with the sail on my stealth? Honestly I've already got most everything on the way for the 99 front conversion ( 1200ish worth)
And the side skirts aswell (250). So unless someone is wanting to trade...I've got close to 4k into it now...with the cost of the car...

yeah. you could just leave the r/t sails and enjoy the way it is; increased rearward visibility and all.

your only other option is to swap base/es sails, but most members here detest them.

I'm considering cutting the grey plastic portion some and painting it. If I cut it to match the profile of the metal sail.... would I have to find/make gaskets if I did that?

not sure what you're asking. if the r/t sails are too bulky, you can get base/es sails. they're low-profile, narrower, and can be painted body color or black (if you go with a black-top car). additionally, you can probably "fill" the indents on them fairly easily; giving it a nice smooth look.

Was going to cut the grey portion of the sail which looks like hell due to fade.... but I think ill just paint them white for a noce contrast, and save myself a couple of bucks.... I only need to pick up a hood now and ill have every body piece I need before paint..
