US Military to Launch Mach 17 (13,00mph) Plane

It will be so fast it will be able to drop a bomb anywhere in the world in under an hour.

By the time you finish reading this sentence, the Falcon HTV-2, the fastest plane ever built, could have flown 18 miles. It would get from London to Sydney in less than an hour, while withstanding temperatures of almost 2,000C, hotter than the melting point of steel.
Found this on another site: NYC to L.A. in 12 minutes with this. Not bad.

And sorry but I can't help but laugh at mo-fuggin' DARPA tweeting.

Wonder why they gave up on the previous model, which was capable of Mach 22.

Who would have thought that once an aircraft got up to 13,000 mph it might be difficult to control?

Yeah, I've noticed that when my VR4 gets up to about 3.6 miles per second is gets a touch shaky.

Is it really an aircraft? Seems like more of a very fast cruise missile to me.
