Released from being an inpatient for the last few days at the hospital due to the fever and back to our room across from the hospital.

Scary cause I am still neutropenic and have no immune system. But ALL the labs came back negative for any bugs at all. And temp stabilized once I got there and was put on 2 different IV antibiotics and lots of fluids.

Must just have been all those little ninja stem cells working overtime heating my insides up. Will be nice to get a good night sleep, you know, they wake you every hour in the hospital for something. CMON, I am trying to rest here LOL.

Mucositis in throat is gone (think REAL bad sore throat due to open sores). It's common with transplants due to the chemo. They say a few days after that clears up, my system should start rebooting and building. Cause it takes a bit of the body working right for it to repair itself. Getting excited. Can't wait to here that my stems have taken hold and that I have started making neutrophils and blood.

Stomach is so/so. Sometimes I can't tell if I am hungry or have a sour stomach. And inevitably whatever I pick isn't what I really want. And I went so long not eating too much that now my stomach it small, I can't eat much at one time. Boost and ensure help. Haven't lost too much weight. Came here at about 148 and am still hovering around 144.5, not too shabby.

Thanks for all the support, I am almost there. May be able to get back home and enjoy fall.

I know so very well what this illness can do, and for you to be where you are at, and in the spirits you are in is so awesome to me. You are very much someone I have great respect for. Chris, I've gotten to the point I almost don't have words to describe the inspiration you've been.

It has helped Joan and I deal with our niece Nicole's situation, which has been dire for the past 4 years - she's been pretty heroic herself, but her prognosis is not good.

It's not stretching things to say you've provided the hope we still have.

Still 0. Neutrophils, the bacteria fighting white blood cells, but they should pop up in another day or two.
