Here are my thoughts.
I've tried:
Syncromesh
Royal purple
Redline mtl
Diaqueen
Syncromesh shifted the best of course. I stripped all of the teeth off my 2nd gear outer syncro while drag racing with it. Could have just been lucky though.
No problems at all with the royal purple syncromax, but it is super thin, so I was too worried to keep running it. I tried their 90 weight and it was almost unshiftable when cold.
Redline was very good cold or hot.
I heard diaqueen would be less notchy, but it is not.
I'm going back to mtl. It is more available and feels slightly better imo.
Heavyweight shockproof is great, but leaks from the breather on the transfercase. I changed to redline 75w 90 and no more leaks. Maybe shockproof is better, but not if it leaks on the ground.
I know there are designs out there to combat this, but just changing gear oil fixed it for me. Not worth the trouble.
