Found a VR4 I might not be able to pass on, but not sure how good a deal it is

    Hello all,

When I have downtime at work I often check local used car listings for various cars just to kill time. However, this time I came across a VR4 that seems like a great deal. I've been out of the 3s scene for several years now so I thought I'd post up and see if this is as good a deal as it appears to be to me. Here are the details:

    - 93
    - black
    - rebuilt transmission
    - newer clutch
    - unknown on 60k/120k (it's just not listed on the ad--the owner could very well know)
    - just over 100k miles
    - looks to be almost completely stock with just a drop-in filter
    - clear title
    - stored winters

Asking price is $5000. For a mostly stock black 93 with low miles for the age, it seems like a great deal. Again I've been out of the 3000GT/Stealth environment too long so maybe prices have dropped since I was last keeping up with them a few years ago. Any opinions welcome. Thanks.

it's a good deal, not outstanding. But if it's in real clean, solid condition, then it's not a bad deal. You could probably snake it for $4500 or so, just look it over real well, and ask about the timing belt/water pump service.

Averaged priced for around my area, unless you count the performance dealers that think they are worth 17k...

There is the same one listed here for 3999...

Help them, for they know not that which they do not know!

Hmm, prices must have dropped off a decent amount between 09 and now. A well-kept 93+ with that mileage used to sell for 7-8 at least. It's going to be a couple of months before I can afford it so I'll see if the seller still has the car, and try to talk them down a bit.
