A Poll for my sons name who is due in Dec.

So the wife is due in Dec which he will be Our first and hopefully only child haha. We are having a tough time deciding on names. I will have 4 in the poll for fun to see what everyone else likes. Of course other ideas are welcome we are just looking for something out of the ordinary, and has a good meaning behind it if possible.

i might be able to think of a few more if i put time to it. as you can tell, i'm not a fan of "common" names either.

naming your kid something that only intellectuals will appreciate is an easy way to separate the wheat from the chaff.

fwiw, i would NEVER name my kid on the basis of trying to give them the easiest possible route through life. familiar with "freakonomics"? yeah. f**k common baby names. the only way i'd ever name my kid something common would be if i decided to name my firstborn SON "sue".

Which is why you can legally change your name. I'm sorry, but a kid name Perseus is probably going to get his ass kicked on a daily basis. When I hear the name Dante, I think of a giant football player... don't know why either. Although I did want to go read The Divine Comedy.

Honestly Thadd, most of the name you listed are something I would name a dog or cat, not my child. Shit, I hate my name, I wasn't even born in April.

While I wouldn't want a "common" name, I also wouldn't want an "out there" name that my parents stole from Greek mythology either.

Not a big fan of unusual names. Out of those choices, I'd pick Logan. If I were to recommend an unusual name, I'd say to pick one where the full name is unusual, but it could be shortened to a more normal name, like "Maximillian" for example, and he'd be Max for short.
