    TD05 turbine wheels

Are there any turbine wheel upgrades that can be used with either an MHI TD05 big 16G or they chinabay EVO 16G turbos that will increase spool? Also anyone seen any of the TD05 upgrades from the website below?

Bingo. The difference between TiAl and the regular turbos on the older Evos wasn't huge but it was definitely noticeable and the wheels were identical otherwise.

As far as the TiAl wheels are there any variants that work better? Such as the one Matt uses at Dynamic Racing on his TD05 turbo upgrade, are they a custom wheel as opposed to wheels just swapped from newer EVO turbos? I also want to say I read something about magnesium turbine wheels too. Trying to find some places that can do the swap reliably and hoping its not to cost prohibitive. I about to swap out my old MHI turbos, and rebuild them, while a set of new non-mhi EVO16G turbos go on the car.

I have heard of the magnesium wheels exploding. But that could just been from tons of abuse.

As for the TiAl turbines, Im not sure if other turbos have them you can swap them out of. I have only heard of them from Matt tho.

mag wheel is the compressor wheel, and ti-al is the turbine wheel. currently only a special evo turbo offers those combo packaging. yes they do have a higher failure rate, but we were selling those to the rally guys.

Markoverclock, would you be able to list modifications that can be internally made to either MHI TD05 big 16G or the non-MHI EVO16G turbos to increase spool? I'm sure at a certain point it becomes cost prohibitive compared with a different class of turbocharger, but for those that already have TD05 setups in place what are the options as far as changing out compressor wheels, turbine wheels, or like the web link I posted going to a ball bearing setup.
